Cong. Joel Roy "Joe" Duavit



Joel Roy “Joe” Roy R. Duavit was born on March 19, 1965. He was the Representative of the 1st District of Rizal for the 15th and 16th Congress. He is a Businessman and a Politician.

He is a graduate of La Salle Greenhills for his secondary education and took Bachelor of Science and Technology and Accounting at Hawaii University in Killeen, Texas.

During his term as Congressman in the House of Representatives during the 15th Congress he became the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Information and Communication Technology and also of the Committee on Trade and Industry. He was also a member of the following committees: Committee on Appropriations, Committee on Civil & Professional Regulation, Committee on Dagerous Durgs, Committee on Economic Affairs, Committee on Games and Amusement, Committee on Housing and Urban Development, Committee on Public Works and Highways, Committee on Science and Technology. On the other hand, during his term in the 16th Congress he became Chairman of the Committee on Information and Communication Technology and was a member of the following committees: Committee on Civil Service & Professional Regulation, Committee on Economic Affairs, Committee on Housing and Urban Development, Commettee on Overseas Workers Affairs, Committee on Trade and Industry, Special Committee on Globalization and WTO, Spacial Committee on Southern Tagalog Development.
